DevSecOps Foundation

This course is given as an intensive two-day workshop covering the notions of culture, security, governance, risk and compliance, identity, access and monitoring that support the collaboration between development (DEV) and operations (OPS) teams.

This workshop is intended for practitioners or managers involved in optimizing workflows between the DEV and OPS teams and for people who directly contribute to the activities that are part of the Service Delivery Pipeline. At the end of the course, participants will take a one-hour exam containing a multiple-choice questionnaire to obtain the international DevOps Institute (DOI)/PeopleCert DevSecOps Foundation certificate.

DevSecOps version: This course introduces the DevSecOps principles and is based on the DSOF v2.1 Exam Requirements.

The course, course materials and exam are in English.

Course duration

2 days of learning, including the final exam (scheduled later by the candidate).

None.

Course structure

This course comprises a series of interactive readings supplemented by classroom and other exercises resembling the exam.

Course objectives

In two days, participants will acquire the knowledge and skills required to:

  • Explain the key concepts and definitions associated to DevSecOps.
  • Describe the different aspects required to embrace the DevOps culture and promote the importance of collaboration, flow, feedback and experimentation in the context of applications, platforms and service security.
  • Explain what is required to support service security governance, risk and compliance.
  • Take the DOI/PeopleCert exam with confidence by applying their newly acquired knowledge.
  • Put the DevSecOps principles to practical use.

Target audience

This course is intended for:

  • Personnel involved in contributing and optimizing the security of the service delivery activities and pipeline
  • Practitioners and managers involved in DevSecOps-related initiatives
  • Participants with ideally three to six months of prior IT experience

Exam

The official DOI/PeopleCert DevSecOps Foundation exam is included.

The participant will receive a voucher valid for 12 months to write the exam and will need to schedule the exam date. The certification exam will be written electronically following the training and requires access to a connected computer with active audio and video.

Format: 40 multiple-choice questions
Duration: 60 minutes.

It is recommended to get the training from an accredited organization with accredited training material.
