DevOps – Leadership

This course is an intensive two-day session covering the aspects of leading and being part of a DevOps transformation. It is intended for practitioners or managers playing a leading role in an organisation seeking to achieve high-velocity service management using DevOps. At the end of the course, participants will take a one-hour multiple-choice exam in order to obtain the international PeopleCert DevOps Leadership certificate.

DevOps version: This course is based on the DevOps version developed by the organisation PeopleCert.

The course, course materials and exam are in English.

Course duration

2 days of learning, including the final exam.

Prerequisite

DevOps Fundamentals certification or equivalent knowledge.

Course structure

This course includes interactive presentations supplemented by classroom discussions and other exercises resembling the exam.

  • What is leadership and DevOps leadership
  • How to lead a DevOps transformation
  • Establishing the need for urgency for DevOps
  • Clarifying and aligning business objectives
  • Creating a vision and strategy for transformation
  • Identifying and influencing vital stakeholders
  • Leading a culture of self-organised, cross-functional teams and continual improvement
  • Gathering, broadcasting and implementing feedback
  • Enabling flow across the value stream and breaking work into iterations to accelerate learning and experimentation
  • Leading for continuous delivery
  • Leading for innovation
  • Improving organisational resilience and sustainability

Course objectives

In 2 days, participants will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to:

  • Clarify, plan, approach and lead a DevOps transformation.
  • Engage the organisation into adopting the DevOps full stack approach and key DevOps principles.

Target audience

This course is aimed at:

  • Personnel and management playing a leading role in high-velocity IT service delivery and resilience.
  • Practitioners and managers involved in DevOps transformations and high-automation environments.
  • Participants with ideally three to six months of prior experience in an IT organisation.

Exam

The official PeopleCert DevOps Leadership exam is included.

Format: 20 multiple-choice questions
Duration: 60 minutes.

It is recommended to take this training with an accredited organisation using accredited training material and trainers.
